P-C-M seats go empty in Kolkata colleges

Several city colleges have sought the state higher education department's permission to reopen applications to undergraduate courses - particularly in science subjects such as maths, chemistry and physics - after a lukewarm response has left several seats vacant. Even economics, traditionally one of the most sought-after, has many seats vacant in some colleges.
