Onion price woes persist despite wholesale rate dip

The paradox over the high retail price of onion continues in Kolkata. While wholesale onion prices have been dipping with a steady supply from Maharashtra and Karnataka, retail prices have refused to go below Rs 120. At some major markets in south Kolkata, onion was sold at Rs130/kg on Thursday.
