Kolkata: Man kills wife on son’s birthday, held

An electrician was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death at his in-laws’ house at Maheshtala in South 24 Parganas on Saturday — his son’s birthday. Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple, married for 17 years, did not stay together. The accused, Shibu Karmakar, (48), suspected that his wife, Madhumita (38), was having an illicit affair.
