WB: Gopal Tewari acquitted of cop shooting

A local court on Thursday acquitted Gopal Tewari and 12 others accused of shooting at sub-inspector Jagannath Mondal four years ago.The fast-track second court at Bankshal said there was not enough evidence against the accused. The trial began in 2017 and the court recorded the statements of 33 witnesses. The trial ended on September 12 and the court had reserved Thursday to give its verdict.
